Introducing Sophie Stargazer Boutique to The Keppel Building

As a young girl, Kristin Snyder dreamed of owning a women’s boutique that featured independent artists. After earning degrees in both Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing, and working as a freelance costume designer and wardrobe stylist, Kristin put her dreams into action. She opened Sophie Stargazer Boutique in July 2013 on the 100 Block of East King Street, on the Historic East Side of downtown Lancaster.

“It’s my vision to create a truly eclectic boutique that our customers can visit and explore, always finding something they love for themselves, as well as their friends and family,” says Snyder. At Sophie Stargazer, customers can find a variety of upscale women’s clothing, home decor, and gifts.

Designer brands and eco-friendly materials have been the focus for Snyder since the beginning. Over the last three and half years, however, Sophie Stargazer has grown to incorporate more brands which are both ethically made and made locally by Lancaster artists.

This spring, Sophie Stargazer Boutique is relocating to the newly renovated Keppel Building on the historic 300 block of North Queen Street in downtown Lancaster. “I love the energy on the 300 block, and I am really excited about being in a location where so many diverse businesses work together, participating in new events!” says Kristin.

“Our beautiful new space at The Keppel Building will really allow us to showcase the high quality products our boutique offers, while simultaneously being a part of and respecting the history of Lancaster itself,” explains Snyder. “I love working one-on-one with my customers and I am excited for more foot traffic in this new space, where I can work with lots of wonderful people.”

The new location will continue to bring in more work created by locally emerging brands.  Customers can look forward to everything they know and love from Sophie Stargazer Boutique—just more of it!

“I am really looking forward to increasing our variety of clothing styles and gifts items in the boutique, and pushing the fashion envelope! We truly cater to women of all ages and styles, and I’m always happy to help my customers interpret the latest trends in a sensible and stylish way.”
