Introducing LSJ Studios to The Keppel Building
LSJ Studios came to life a little over a year ago when founder, Loryn Spangler-Jones, opened her first location at 110 West King Street in Suite 101. Loryn is an award-winning an internationally recognized mixed media artist who exhibits locally. Before opening her own gallery, she spent five years as the Director and lead art instructor of Annex 24 Gallery on Walnut Street.
LSJ Studios is proud to announce their big move into The Keppel Building. While her open and modern King Street location serves as her creative space, classroom space, as well as a gallery, the new Keppel location will solely exhibit only her work.
Although Loryn is technically considered a mixed media artist, she tends to have a consistent love affair with acrylics. “The female figure and nature are two of my favorite subjects to explore and abstract,” she explains. She adds, “I think it’s important to note my intense passion for the abstract.” It is within the abstract genre that she feels most easily able to express the feelings she otherwise cannot find words for.
“My goal is to keep the walls fresh with new work being rotated in at least quarterly,” she says. And on a block which is already organically incredibly successful, as well as a “destination” block, Loryn hopes to grow her presence while also pushing additional foot traffic to West King Street, a slowly developing area of Lancaster City.
